The Gil Court Award recognises the achievements of an outstanding trainee / apprentice working in the Northern Territory Resource Sector. To win the award applicants need to demonstrate the same qualities of dedication, integrity, skill and acumen that Gil brought to his work.
The winner of the award for 2008 was Natasha Abbott, Community Relations Officer at Newmont Asia Pacific Tanami Operations.
Natasha was a truly worthy winner of the award, and displayed all of those qualities that Gil held in such high regard.
Further to this achievement, Natasha was also announced as the winner of the Northern Territory 'Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Student of the Year for 2008,' and was a national finalist in the Australian Training Awards.
Winning finalists were announced at an awards dinner night held at the Darwin Convention Centre on the 20th of November.
Natasha came runner up in her category!
