Applicant Guildelines

 

Introduction

 

This award has been established to recognise the application, skills and dedication of an apprentice / trainee working within the Northern Territory Resource Sector.

 

Criteria

 

This award is open to apprentices / trainees who work within the following industries:

  • Mining
  • Drilling
  • Petro-Chemicals and Hydrocarbons

You do not have to be employed directly within these industries. For example, you can be employed as an electrical contractor who works on a mine site. Your qualification can be in any area or occupation which leads you to a nationally recognised outcome at Certificate III or above. You can be at any stage of your apprenticeship or traineeship.

 

Your Application

 

To apply for the award complete the 2009 application form including any attachments and / or photos. Electronic applications to archie@mitac.org.au are encouraged.

 

Prize

  • A prize to the value of $5,000 will be awarded to the winning apprentice / trainee. This prize will be made up of several components  e.g. travel, cash, fees, IT, equipment, tools etc.
  • A trophy

Awarding the Prize

 

The prize will be awarded at an industry function towards the middle of 2009. Date and venue to be confirmed. The winner will receive two tickets for the award and travel assistance if required from remote locations.

 

Deadline

 

All entries must be received by close of business April 14th 2009.
