Major Industries Training Advisory Council

Major Industries Training Advisory Council (MITAC)

Training Advisory Councils (TAC’s) are not for profit organisations, funded by NT government to provide leadership and advice to industry, government and the community, on the vocational education and training needs of the industries they work with.

They also play an important role in promoting careers, and assisting industry to devise and implement strategies to overcome skills shortages.

The industries under MITAC’s scope include some of the major drivers of the Northern Territory economy such as mining, construction and utilities.

There are six TACs operating in the Northern Territory covering a range of industries.  Click here for further information.

Construction & Property Services Industries Skills Council

Construction and Property Services Industries Skills Council (CPSISC)

Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) provide advice to Australian, state and territory governments on the training that is required by industry.

The key purpose of an ISC is to provide:

• comprehensive representation of industry in the management and planning of vocational education and training (VET)
• advice and participation in the development of training products and services to meet industry needs.

The Construction and Property Services ISC represents the workforce training and development needs of an extremely large and vitally important sector of the Australian economy – the Construction and Property Services Industries.

There are 11 ISC’s operating nationally covering a range of industries.
