Recognising Outstanding Apprentice Achievement
The Award recognises the acheivements of an outstanding apprentice working within any minerals organisation operating in the Northern Territory.
It has been established in memory of Gil Court who worked for more than 35 years in education and training. Gil's work focused on the minerals industry and he spent ten years with Energy Resources Australia in Jabiru.

Later he was Executive Officer with the Major Industries Training Advisory Council, who have set up the Award along with the Northern Territory Resources Council. Gil sadly died of cancer in 2005.
The Award aims to reward an apprentice who displays the qualities which Gil bought to the workplace, including:
- dedication
- enthusiasm
- a commitment to quality
- attention to detail Gil Court
- leadership qualities
The winner of the Award receives a trophy and a prize to the value of $5000.

Nominations for the Gil Court Award will be called in February 2009.
