Industries Services Training (IST) - Contracted Projects with Training
It is estimated that the following projects / training will take place over a period of 6 months:
Demolition of an existing Airport shelter and construction of a new shelter with a lockable storage room. The total area will be 4.8m wide and 11m long
Construction of a roof 15m wide and 15.5m long over an existing concrete slab to create an outdoor theatre stage, which will have lighting and power supply for night use.
Maintenance work - electrical upgrade and installation of split system air-conditioning to the youth centre.

Demolition of all facilities, external and internal walls to the male and female toilet facilities at the community pool. All of the walls will be replaced with block walls. New stainless steel toilets, urinals, showers and hand basins will be installed as well as new fans and lights. The floors and shower walls will be tiled, and all remaining walls will be painted.

As part of contractual obligations with the Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council (CPSISC), Major Industries Training Advisory Council (MITAC) will be following the progress of the training for a period of 14 weeks.

Follow OH&S policies and procedures
Plan and organise work
Carry out measurements and calculations
Handle construction materials
Use construction tools and equipment
Apply basic leveling procedures
Carry out basic demolition
Carry out concreting to simple forms
Weld using arc welding equipment
Use brick laying and block laying tools and equipment
Handle and prepare brick laying and block laying materials
Handle painting and decorating materials
Use painting and decorating tools and equipment

Allan Arthus - Block laying and tiling Trainer

The trainers will be working 4 weeks on site at Ngukurr then spending 1 week at the training centre in Darwin as a break, and to refurbish their food supplies for another 4 week spell.
